City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 8, 2023 <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee – Council Member King stated that the Committee <br />address regular business types of items. <br /> Fire Protection Council – Council Member King provided an update stating that <br />decisions had been made regarding the communications software “FirstDue”. That he had <br />concern regarding voting structure and appointments to the Council. <br /> <br />th <br />d. Mosher – Council Member Mosher stated that the 40 Annual Lions Fishing Contest had been <br />cancelled due to safety of participants and the condition of ice on the lake. <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher stated that the EDA <br />would be meeting on February 15, 2023. <br /> Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher sworn in two new officers Ashley <br />and Danielle brings them to 10 patrol officers and total 15 or 16. Administrator Statz <br />stated that a lot of departures are being experienced from leaving to work with other <br />family members to obtaining a job that pays more or a community that is busier. There <br />was concern for exit interviews being outsourced to obtain critical information as to why <br />officers are leaving the department. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love wished Administrator Statz a Happy Birthday Statz and pointed out the <br />Centerville CARES and Anoka County Transit portions of the City Administrator’s Report. <br /> <br /> Mayor Love stated that earlier in the work session, Republic Services stated that they would <br />provide an additional recycling container for those that wished to have one for no additional fee <br />and to contact them to arrange for this option. He reviewed for Council and the audience <br />upcoming Centennial Community Education programming and stated that if individuals were <br />interested they should visit their website or contact them. <br /> <br /> North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love stated that the next <br />meeting was scheduled for February 15, 2023. <br /> <br /> Police Governing Board – Mayor Love stated that one of the new officers was married <br />to a previous officer. He reported that the department received funds from FBI or <br />Homeland Security and a donation of a $1,000 from Kwik Trip along with a COPS grant <br />He also reported that the Board approved Chief Mork’s contract which included a 2.5% <br />increase along with a 5% cola increase. <br /> Other Mayoral Reports - Mayor Love gave no other reports. <br /> <br />XI. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Adjourn the Regularly <br />Scheduled Council Meeting at 7:33 p.m. All in favor.
