City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 8, 2023 <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that he and Mr. Brass have had <br />numerous conversations along with having conversations with individuals that are interested <br />in developing in Centerville. He stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission met the <br />evening prior and discussed holding a Public Hearing regarding RVs and tents for limited <br />occupancy for a limited amount of time along with no parking areas and possible snow <br />emergency regulations. He reported that the Commission held a Public Hearing regarding the <br />Discharging of Firearms but not action has been taken on that item. He stated that the second <br />Skate/Sled night would be taking place on Friday evening and with the difficulties of making <br />ice due to weather conditions it was likely that skating would not be a part of the festivities. <br />He reported that the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />had vacant seat and if anyone was interested to contact City Hall. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis reported that LOCi would be providing a final report in May to the <br />EDA/City Council. She also reported that a survey would be ready for individuals to complete on the <br />web site and App. She explained that LOCi had been contracted to complete a Downtown Study for the <br />city by the EDA. <br /> <br />Mayor Love requested that the date for Council’s retreat should be set at the next meeting and <br />Administrator Statz stated that it was felt that the LOCi study should be a part of that retreat for discussion <br />purposes. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that the courts are now open with all services being back to normal and if a <br />citizen desired for their hearings via Zoom that could be accommodated. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Shaw reported that the second semester had started and that there was a recent <br />band concert at Andover High School which went well. . <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Vacant <br /> Parks & Recreation – No update <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council – No update <br /> <br />b. Koski – Council Member Koski stated that he liked the Administrator’s Report and felt that the <br />updates were very helpful. He stated that public safety costs have increased significantly with <br />recruitment for both Police and Firefighters being difficult. <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that the Commission <br />met last evening and Administrator Statz provided the review well. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that the next meeting was <br />scheduled for April 20, 2023. <br /> <br />c. King - <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member King stated that the EDA would <br />be meeting on February 15, 2023. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member King stated that the next meeting was <br />scheduled for April 20, 2023. <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
