Proposed Amendment to City Code Chapter 156: Temporary Dwellings & Structures <br />Discussion ensued about proposed revisions to the ordinance. The definition of recreational vehicles <br />was discussed; adding a definition of a tent was also discussed. The Commission suggested <br />modifying the definition of recreational vehicle and adding a definition for tent. The Commissioner <br />suggested using a dictionary definition of a tent, such as Ða collapsible shelter of fabric (such as <br />nylon or canvas) stretched and sustained by poles and used for camping outdoors or as a temporary <br />buildingÑ and adding Ðas used for recreational purposes for a limited period of time. Noting what a <br />tent is not, i.e., a lean to, car port, etc., is often helpful too. <br />Discussion ensued about restricting the parking of recreational vehicles to the driveway and adding <br />a restriction for a 5-10ft setback from the right of way or curb for all temporary dwellings and <br />structures. <br />The public hearing on both ordinances was closed at 7:32p.m. <br />Motion by Commissioner Olson, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to close the public <br />hearings on the Temporary Dwellings & Structures and No Parking Areas was closed. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br />The Commission approved revisions to City Code Chapter 156: Temporary Dwellings & Structures. <br /> <br />Motion by Chair Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Nelson to Approve Ordinance 156: <br />Temporary Dwellings & Structures as presented in the packet with the addition definitions <br />of reinstating the definition of recreational vehicle and modifying it, adding a definition of <br />tent, adding distance from the right-of-way, and adding a restriction on the use of temporary <br />dwellings and structures. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />2. Proposed Amendment to City Code Chapter 71: Parking Requirements <br />There was no additional discussion on the No Parking ordinance. The <br /> <br />The Commission approved revisions to City Code Chapter 156: Temporary Dwellings & Structures. <br /> <br />Motion by Chair Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to Approve Ordinance 71: <br />Parking Requirements as presented in the packet.
