CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: April 12, 2023 Parks & Recreation VII.10 TITLE OF ISSUE: Purchase of Audio Equipment to Replace Existing Equipment - End of Life Cycle, Operable BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The Committee has discussed the replacement of audio equipment for quite some time knowing that the existing equipment was past its life-cycle and could fail at any given point. Committee Member Peterson has completed research and enlisted a well-known mentor, with extensive sound/audio knowledge, to recommend replacement of the existing equipment. The Committee has discussed the benefits to performers by offering the City's equipment for Music in the Park, potential for sale of outdated equipment, use of outdated equipment as backup, use of the equipment for other events (Fete des Lacs, Skate/Sled Nights, State of the City Presentation, etc. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $4,000/$3,000 from Park & Rec.
