As required by a moratorium, the city is studying the issue by talking with our law enforcement and school
officials, watching what other cities are doing to see what is working and what is not, and soliciting input
from the public. Some of the regulations other cities are considering include:
Behind-the-counter sales
Licensing w/background checks
Buffers around schools and daycares
No mobile or vending machine sales

As always, you may submit any thoughts you have on the issue through info@centervillemn.com or keep
an eye out for a public hearing and other opportunities to weigh in.

CENTERVILLE CARES
Rice Creek Watershed District Mini-Grants
The 2023 Mini-Grant application is now available! A total of $10,000 is available for this program in
2023.
These grants are awarded on a first come - first serve basis to eligible and complete applications. Funding
for this program is limited. Applying does not guarantee mini-grant approval. If a grant is awarded, a cover
letter describing the project including the requested amount of reimbursement, copies of (paid) receipts,
and photos of the completed project must be submitted with the final request for dollars.
This is a reimbursement grant. The amount of the grant cannot exceed the cost of the actual project and
maximum $500 limit. Applicant labor or time is not eligible for payment. Projects must be completed no
later than December 1, 2023 (new timeline for 2023).
