The Rice Creek Watershed District <br />The Rice Creek Watershed District has released its 2022 Annual Report. <br />The annual report is a review and assessment of the work done last year, <br />and its efforts toward the goals outlined in the District’s Watershed <br />Management Plan. <br />The annual report also includes documentation of information required <br />for the District's MS4 permit. RCWD has an MS4 permit through the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for portions of the public drainage <br />system. <br />The report contains nine management categories: 103E Public Drainage <br />Systems,Non 103E Drainage Systems, District Facilities Flooding, <br />Water Quality Management, Funding, Collaborations, Regulatory <br />(Communication, Outreach, and Education. Read the full report here. <br />PLANNING & ZONING <br />1737 Main Street – Proposed Salon <br />nd <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met on May 2 to review a concept plan for the proposed salon at <br />1737 Main Street. Several layouts, with various placements of the building and parking were presented for <br />consideration. Ultimately, the commission landed on acceptance of Option A, which puts the building in <br />the rear of the site, with parking out front. This layout maximizes opportunities for future expansion or <br />drive-thru alternatives. <br />THC Regulations <br />The Minnesota State legislative bodies have each passed their own version of a marijuana legalization bill, <br />which will now be consolidated into one, through a bicameral reconciliation committee. Each version of <br />the bill has slightly different allowances for city cost sharing and regulation authority. Once signed into law, <br />staff will move quickly to formulate recommendations on how to exercise whatever discretion we may have. <br />Amazon Sign Variance <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on a variance request from Amazon.com <br />Services LLC to allow for additional ground-mounted way-finding signage on their campus. No public <br />comments were offered. The Commissioned voted unanimously to recommend approval of the variance by <br />the City Council. The Council will take up the matter at their May 10 meeting. <br />CENTERVILLE CARES <br />Food Shelf Grocery Delivery <br />Anoka County Transit, with support of the Met Council, provides free <br />food delivery from food shelves in the area. Participating food shelves <br />are: ACBC, NACE, Salvation Army, SACA, and Centennial <br />Community Food Shelf. If you would like to place an order for delivery, <br />call the food shelf closest to you. The food shelf will contact Anoka <br />County Transit to coordinate the pick-up. Anoka County Transit will <br />then contact you with the delivery information. Delivery service is provided Monday -Friday, 6:00 am – <br />7:00 pm. You can book up to one week in advance, though limited same day delivery is an option if needed. <br />Anyone can access the delivery service through Anoka County Transit.
