<br />Approved <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission held in Council Chambers on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30p.m. <br /> <br />1. Roll Call <br />Present: Chair Les Kuiper <br /> Vice-Chair Commissioner Jon Krueger <br />Commissioner Darrell (DJ) Olson, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Richard Nelson <br /> Commissioner Bruce Thompson <br /> Commissioner Linda Broussard-Vickers <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />Vacancy: One <br /> <br />Staff: Administrator Mark Statz, Assistant City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br /> Council Liaison, Mayor D. Love, City Planner, Phil Carlson <br /> <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Administrator Statz made one revision to the agenda, which is adding the swearing in of Linda <br />Broussard-Vickers as a Commissioner. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thompson, seconded by Commissioner Krueger to Approve the <br />Revised Agenda. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The oath was administered to Linda Broussard- Vickers. <br /> <br />IV. PUBLIC HEARING (6:30 PM or shortly thereafter) <br /> <br />1. Variance Application – 1746 Dupre Road <br /> <br />Chair Kuiper opened a public hearing at 6:35pm. <br />Administrator Statz introduced this item, noting that the city has received an application for a <br />variance from the homeowner at 1746 Dupre Road for reconstruction of a shed. The existing shed <br />pre-dates the city’s current zoning ordinance and the existing shed is grandfathered because it was <br />legally established before the effective date of the ordinance change that prohibits it. If the owner <br />were to tear down and reconstruct a shed in the exact same footprint, there would be no need for a <br />variance. However, since the homeowner wants to reconstruct a larger (2 ft longer and 2 feet wider) <br />shed, a variance is needed. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br />
