Dated: 05123 12023
City of Centerville
C/O Mark Statz
Email:
Re: Stakeholder Public Comment for City Council Meeting on May 24, 2023
Proposed Amendments to City Code, Chapter 71. Parking Regulations
SENT VIA EMAIL
Dear Mayor Love and Members of the City Council:
I am writing in support of the letter submitted by Curtis Ventures, LLC dated May 17, 2023 to
oppose the proposed amendments to the city's parking map, which would effectively ban all on -street
parking in Centerville's industrial district. As a stakeholder, I ask the City Council to deny the proposed
parking restrictions on Commerce Dr and Fairview St between 20" Ave S and 21' Ave S and to formally
delineate permitted on -street parking options within and adjacent to Centerville's industrial park. On -
street parking is a public amenity for Centerville's businesses who rely on trucks for business operations
or for transportation of goods and materials.
Public short-term parking for trucks can help curtail road rage, tired or distracted driving, and
serves as a shared amenity for local businesses to manage unexpected fluctuations or seasonal demands.
Truck parking on both private and public property is heavily limited and few flexible options exist. Public
parking spaces for trucks near the businesses they serve will make our streets safer and help the numerous
businesses in our community thrive.
Thank you for your consideration,
By:
Name: Pat McKas:
Title: president
Company: Midwest Best Wate
p y=
Address: 2021 Commerce Dr Centerville
Doc ID: bf4D46368e5e651373f6cle5aO6d724d8fc7d991
