City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 24, 2023 <br />Discussion ensued that dedicated time allowing for the separation of a Work Session and Council <br />meeting, possibility of scheduling in late September or October as Fete des Lacs was pending, the <br />Downtown Study and population 5,000 being large items of discussion with the LOCi study, EDA budget <br />and the anticipated hotel study taking approximately a month or two before information was available. <br />Administrator Statz asked if Council would like a written update and Council concurred. <br /> <br />No action was required. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Taylor, seconded by Council Member King to Close the Reassessment <br />Hearing for the 2022 City Hall Parking Lot and Street Improvements Project at 8:12 p.m. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Res. #23-0XX – Re-Adopting Assessment Roll <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that these property owners have been given an opportunity to appeal this <br />evening and the assessments would be place with the County in November. He stated that one of the five <br />has already paid the assessment. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Adopt Res. #23-014 – <br />Adopting Special Assessments on 2022 Thin Mill & Overlay Project – Re-Assessment. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that his report was contained <br />in the packet and that he would be happy to answer any questions. He briefly discussed the <br />AA+ rating and stated that policies are in place and Council has been good stewards of the <br />City’s finances. Council Member Koski asked about the installation of parking lot lights and <br />Administrator Statz stated that staff would be resubmitting for the grant in June with a <br />awarding to potentially being July 4. He stated that if the city was unsuccessful, staff would <br />be moving forward with providing Council with bids for consideration. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Shaw reported that there were eight days left of the school year with years books <br />and graduation gowns being given to students. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that the Centennial Lakes Police Department is fully staffed, and his office <br />is working with the office on training and onboarding. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz mentioned Juneteenth and stated that City Hall would be recognizing the holiday. <br />He stated that this item would be on Council’s next agenda for discussion as it would be an additional <br />holiday that would need to be provided to staff. He explained that staff are given a floating holiday and <br />Columbus Day, with staff utilizing Columbus Day for the day after Thanksgiving. He stated that all other <br />legal holidays are also recognized. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a.
