<br /> Approved <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION & COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 27, 2022 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled City <br />Council Work Session and City Council meeting on July 27, 2022 in Council Chambers of City <br />Hall and the meeting was also live streamed by North Metro TV. Mayor Love attended the Work <br />Session only via Zoom. <br /> <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Love called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />PRESENT: Acting Mayor Council Member Russ Koski <br />Mayor D. Love (Via Zoom) <br />Council Member Steve King <br />Council Member Michelle Lakso <br />Council Member Darrin Mosher <br />Jr. Council Member Danny Peterson (Non-Voting) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mark Statz <br /> Finance Director Bruce DeJong <br /> City Attorney Scott Baumgartner <br /> <br /> <br />II. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1. Preliminary 2023 Budget <br /> <br />Administrator Statz reviewed the 2023 Preliminary Budget in conjunction with Finance Director <br />DeJong. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the following items: inflation, budget line items, <br />LGA, gambling, Fire Relief, the Fire and Police Department budgets, building revenue, fuel costs, <br />escrows, park maintenance, staff wages (cost of living cola 3%), step increases for new hires, Fete <br />des Lacs with offering more events/programs this year than past years, election wages for 2023 not <br />being needed, engineering costs, liability insurance, a tax levy increase of 3.6%, liquor license <br />revenue being lower than average due to COVID rebates, developments, accounting for overtime <br />(Public Works and Administrative), flex work schedules, safety issues and etc. <br /> <br />2. Review of Assist. City Admin. Position <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that this is not a review of the current staff member, Ms. Lewis, but the <br />position itself, whether the position should remain, is the position worthwhile and does it have <br />growth possibilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
