<br /> City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 27, 2022 <br /> <br />her maple tree had been damaged by the tree trimmers. She described the damage as a hole in the <br />canopy in the tree. In her angry on Monday evening, she called the job a hack job and felt violated <br />stating that this should never had happened. She stated that she is asking for four (4) things from <br />Council: a public apology for the damage and the invasion, to have the City review their policy on <br />tree trimming and consider notification to each homeowner, retraining for the person who makes <br />the decisions to trim trees and recommends consulting with an arborist. Lastly, she would like the <br />City to pay for their contractor to professionally trim the tree where the damage occurred. She was <br />unsure of the cost and thanked Council for their time. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Koski stated he was caught off guard and asked if Council could have dialogue <br />regarding the matter. Administrator Statz stated he did not know of this issue until he stepped out <br />of the work session this evening. He stated our crews were out trimming trees around trails, <br />sidewalks and right-of-ways in preparation of the plowing season. He stated that he would discuss <br />the matter with the Public Works Director. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Koski apologized on behalf of Council stated that if there was an error on the City’s <br />part. He stated that Staff would look into the matter. Administrator Statz stated that he would <br />research the matter and contact Ms. Francois on the following day.
