Special Event Permit — Centerville Lions — Christmas in the Park <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for members to pull items for additional discussion. <br />Council Member Koski requested that Consent Agenda, Item 47 be pulled for further discussion. <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Approve Consent <br />Agenda Items #1-6 as Presented. Roll Call. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />Council Member Koski stated that the Centerville Lions will be holding their annual event again this <br />year, that it was a great event, and thanked them for all of their community efforts. Mayor Love <br />concurred. <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Approve Consent <br />Agenda Item #5 as Presented. Roll Call. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VIIL OLD BUSINESS <br />1. Cancellation of Purchase Agreement for 1737 Main Street <br />Administrator Statz stated that F & M Holdings, parent company for Guys & Dolls, would like to cancel <br />their current purchase agreement with the city. He stated that the $1 would be returned to them as they <br />felt they could not financially construct on the parcel. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the fact that the agreement could not have continued and hoped them well <br />in the future. <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Taylor to Cancel the Purchase <br />Agreement Between the City and F & M Holdings for the Purchase of 1737 Main Street. Roll Call. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Declare a Vacancy on the City Council and Determine Next Steps <br />Administrator Statz stated that with the passing of Council Member Steve King, the Council would <br />officially need to declare a vacancy to fill the position and determine a deadline for acceptance of <br />applications. He stated that Staff discussed timing of the November meeting, deadline being the 20t' of <br />October and interviews being held on October 25, 2023, at the Work Session. He stated that Staff would <br />be expecting interviews and appointment on the same evening. He stated that if the Council delayed <br />action until November, then appointment would be in December as there would only be one meeting in <br />November as which has been customary in the past. He also stated that a retreat would be scheduled for <br />January/February, 2024. Administrator Statz stated that a special meeting could also be scheduled if a <br />decision was not forthcoming on October 25, 2023. <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />
