City of Centerville <br />City Council Work Session Meeting Minutes <br />June 28, 2023 <br />e. Love – Mayor Love stated that it was wonderful to be able to attend the recent League of MN <br />Cities Annual Conference in Duluth providing opportunities to collaborate and share ideas with <br />other cities. He stated that he highly encourages continued education for Council and staff. <br />Council Member Koski thanked Mayor Love for mentoring and introducing him to many <br />individuals at the conference. <br /> <br /> North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love reported that the 2022 <br />audit was reviewed, accepted and he stated that the Commission is in a strong financial <br />position. He reported that the staff has been working with the Minnesota Office of <br />Broadband Development to identify areas of digital inequity in Minnesota through that <br />process that new services could be provided to citizens, primarily senior citizens. He <br />reported that the Commission is developing new commercial sources of income to <br />supplement funding. He noted that it was determined that the Staff were being paid under <br />current market rates through a recent study, that 2024 Budget was approved with potential <br />for implications due to the hiring of a new Executive Director as Ms. Arnson would be <br />retiring at the end of the year. Mayor Love stated the importance of supporting legislation <br />for all digital medias requiring funding for cable commissions and the services they <br />provide to the public and government. <br /> Police Governing Board – Mayor Love gave no report. <br /> Other Mayoral Reports - Mayor Love gave no report. <br /> <br />XI. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Taylor to Adjourn the Regularly <br />Scheduled Council Meeting of June 28, 2023 at 7:35 p.m. All in favor.
