City of Centerville <br />City Council & Work Session Meeting Minutes <br />September 27, 2023 <br />There was concern regarding the number of applications received, timeline spread out for a lengthier <br />amount time, the appointment/acceptance, appropriateness of accepting applications, calling a Special <br />Meeting with the required three days’ notice, setting parameters for filling the vacancy, time that has <br />already gone by and the news of Council Member King’s passing, <br /> <br />Mayor Love thanked the late Council Member King and his family’s dedication to the Community. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Declare a Vacancy on City <br />Council with Application Deadline Date of October 20, 2023 at Noon. Roll Call. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that his Administrator’s Report <br />was contained in the Council’s packet and that he would be happy to answer any questions that <br />may be had. He stated that North Metro TV was now providing podcasts of City meetings, Trunk <br />or Treat coming up (October 28, 2023/Centerville Elementary School), the Mayor’s Minutes were <br />just released, Centerville Cares has child care information, stripping project had been completed, <br />the bike repair stand had been utilized, water tower repairs had been completed, Public Works <br />trucks had been ordered even though the strike is in the process, Anoka County Parks request to <br />explore the use of Mound Trail, parking lot lighting project is experiencing delays, grant <br />application for Water Quality Project for Centerville Lake and move forward if are selected, Rice <br />Creek Watershed District organizing a taxing district for people adjacent to Centerville Lake, <br />Special meeting for the Centennial Lakes Joint Powers agreement regarding the funding formula. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis reminded Council of the Amazon Ribbon Cutting scheduled <br />for October 16, 2023, at 8 a.m. and she hoped that Council Members would attend. <br /> <br />Jr. Council Member Shaw stated that it was Homecoming week of organized events, Friday there <br />would be a pep fest, parade, etc. with the dance being held on Saturday. He also stated that the <br />cross-county team would be at the Osseo Invitational held at Elm Creek on Thursday. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Taylor – <br /> Parks & Recreation – Council Member Taylor gave no report. <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council (Interim) – Council Member Taylor gave no <br />report. <br /> <br />b. Koski – <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that the upcoming <br />meeting had been re-scheduled from October 3 to October 10, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., with <br />four public hearings, so if residents desired to provide input to attend. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski gave no report. <br /> <br />c.
