City of Centerville <br />City Council & Work Session Meeting Minutes <br />September 27, 2023 <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher stated that the EDA <br />Annual Business Appreciation had been set for November 6, 2023, 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Kelly’s <br />Korner, where there will be keynote speakers, opportunities for networking and drawings. <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis stated that the board also updated their Revolving <br />Loan Grant Program. <br /> Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Love – <br /> <br /> North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love reported that they have <br />entered into an agreement with Neighborhood Sports Network (NSN) which will allow <br />local high school games to be streamed via NSPN and viewers will no longer able to watch <br />from the North Metro TV website for free. He stated that a subscription would be needed <br />to view that programming. Administrator Statz stated that viewers would still be able to <br />watch on the North Metro TV website the evening of the game for free and that a video <br />would be coming out shortly on how to continue to receive this viewing for free on social <br />media, so it was suggested to follow North Metro. Mayor Love continued to report that <br />the North Metro TV was providing a class series on Internet Literacy (focused for seniors) <br />and stated that it has been very popular. He also reported that City meetings can be <br />podcasted and election coverage for those communities that were hold elections and <br />school board elections. He also stated that Special Events Coordinator, T.J. Tronson and <br />North Metro were unanimously chosen to receive the Friend of the League award from <br />the League of Women Voters at their September ceremony. He reported that there has <br />been brief discussion regarding the possibility of entering into a Joint Powers Agreement <br />for the Executive Director’s position as Ms. Arnson would be retiring at the end of the <br />year. He stated that the Commission has not held formal discussions regarding this avenue <br />to fill the position. He also stated that Administrator Statz was a part of the Search <br />Committee to fill the position. He stated that comments were submitted to the FCC in <br />support of requiring cable companies to provide subscribers with detailed billing/pricing. <br /> Police Governing Board – Mayor Love gave no report. <br /> Other Mayoral Reports - Mayor Love gave no report. <br /> <br />XI. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Adjourn the <br />Regularly Scheduled Council Meeting of September 27, 2023 at 7:11 p.m. Roll Call.
