Workers' Compensation: Employees are covered by workers' compensation laws and <br />regulations of the State. In the event an Employee is disabled and is entitled to workers' <br />compensation, the Employee will keep any workers' compensation payments received and will <br />be eligible to receive a bi-weekly pay check equal to one-third (1/3) of the Employee's regular <br />pay through the use of personal leave benefits. In addition, the Employee will be entitled to <br />insurance benefits during a workers' compensation leave for a maximum term of six months. <br />Employees receiving such workers' compensation will be considered working for the purpose <br />of accumulating additional personal leave benefits for a maximum term of six months. <br />8.4 Donation of Personal Leave <br />General: With the expressed written approval of the City Council, City Employees may <br />donate accrued PTO in one -hour increments to fellow Employees experiencing extended time <br />off due to a serious medical problem or condition and who have no accumulated PTO or <br />compensatory time. The use of this donated personal leave must be approved by the <br />Department Head and the City Administrator and will be converted to the receiving <br />Employee's hourly rate. This subdivision does not apply to part-time, temporary or seasonal <br />positions. The donation of personal leave from one Employee to another shall be subject to <br />the additional following terms and conditions. <br />(A) A written request to donate personal leave must be made to the City Council via the <br />City Administrator. <br />(B) The City Administrator shall have the right to deny use of donated personal leave or <br />limit its use in the best interests of the City. <br />
