City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreaon Meeng Minutes <br />September 6, 2023 <br /> <br />4. Park Bench Î Eagle Park <br /> <br /> Motion made by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member <br />Akpan to recommend to City Council to accept the $200 in donations to be applied to the <br />purchase of a new park bench in Eagle Park. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> VII. APPROVAL OF PRIOR P & R MINUTES (2-1-23 & 3-3-23) <br />Motion made by Committee Member Akpan, seconded by Committee Member Freuermuth <br />to approve the meeting minutes from the February 1, 2023 Park & Recreation meeting, as <br />written. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />Motion made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Errickson- <br />Grahek to approve the meeting minutes from the March 1, 2023 Park & Recreation meetings, <br />as written. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VIII. UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />1. Staff Updates Î Ms. Teresa Bender, City <br /> <br />th <br />a. Trunk or Treat Event Î October 28- The PD & FD have been confirmed along with the <br />City Snowplow, the face painter is also confirmed, trinkets have been purchased and early <br />marketing has been enclosed in the City newsletter and AdministratorsÓ Report. <br />Committee Member Errickson-Grahek offered some suggestions as to how the EDC could <br />help financially with this event. Fund the face painter ($200), fund a balloon artist or fund <br />the purchase of candy, etc. <br />b.Park Bench Î The bench was purchased on Monday August 28tth with a 45-day shipping <br />timeframe. It will be installed shortly after arrival. <br />c. Park Permit Î A park facility permit application was received by Chris Otto on 8-23-23 <br />th <br />requesting the use of Acorn Creek Park for Wednesdays and Thursdays, August 28 through <br />mid-October, from 6-7 pm. City Clerk Bender approved the application on behalf of the P <br />& R Committee. <br />d. Willow tree in Trailside Park Î the tree needs to be removed due to itÓs dying condition & <br />is blocking the view of the lake. It has been recommended to leave the stump in place to <br />help keep the shoreline from crumbling. Committee Member Fuchs has been asked by the <br />members to provide some recommendations for other types of plantings that would help <br />stabilize the shoreline and also for a type of replacement tree that would be suitable in that <br />environment and also not block the view of the lake. Committee Member Peterson <br />suggested that a thank you letter be sent to the Bald Eagle Water Club for their assistance <br />with the future removal of the tree. <br /> <br />e.
