CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: January 24, 2024 Administration VII. TITLE OF ISSUE: Donation to the Anoka County Historical Society (ACHS) BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: As part of the design of the city hall renovations, a "history niche" was added to the council chambers. In 2021, the city and Anoka County Historical Society (ACHS) signed a memorandum of understanding assigning the ACHS the responsibility of maintaining and curating the display case on an ongoing basis. The city's only expense is to reimburse ACHS for display hardware, which is approximately +/- $250.00 every four to six months, and monies are paid from the General Fund. The city values its partnership with the Anoka County Historical Society (ACHS), and would like to make a donation to ACHS to show their appreciation for the hard work they have poured into maintaining and curating the city's historic exhibit. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $500 General Fund REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to adopt Resolution #24- approving a donation to the Anoka County Historical Society in an amount of $500.00 from the General Fund.
