<br />City of Centerville <br />Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />January 3,2024 <br /> <br />which ends July 25, 2024. <br />** An increase in the fee charged to vendors $20 to $25/week and continue to require a minimum <br />of participation in two events. Funds from these fees could offset the purchase signage, prizes or <br />other expenses. <br />** Install a sign similar to the Bald Eagle Waterski Club’s (i.e., Home of the Bald Eagle Ski Club) <br />that is installed at Corner Stone Park. She felt that a similar sign would be highly visible to <br />pedestrians and vehicle traffic that utilize the intersection. Ms. Bender stated that she would need <br />to discuss the possibility of installing a sign on the city owned parcel with Public Works Director <br />Palzer and obtain costs. <br /> <br />Dates: <br /> July 18, 2024 – Fete des Lacs-City Celebration Week <br /> July 25, 2024 – Ladies Night <br /> August 1, 2024 – No theme <br /> August 8, 2024 – Pet Night <br /> August 15, 2024 – Kids Night <br /> August 22, 2024 – No theme <br /> <br />Chair Errickson-Grahek requested that the item be placed on the February agenda for additional <br />discussion regarding the possibility of placing a sign and its cost. <br /> <br />IV. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />V. COMMITTEE BUSINESS (UNFINISHED) <br /> <br />1. Skate Night (January 13, 2024) <br /> <br />City Clerk Bender stated that it was recommended to either cancel or postpone the event by a week <br />due to the warmer weather. Discussion was had to move the event to January 20 with City Clerk <br />Bender contacting Wargo Nature Center to obtain availability of staff and equipment for the new <br />date. <br /> <br />Wargo Nature Center staff was not available for the rescheduled event. <br /> <br />2. Park Facility Usage Application – Boy Scout Troop 136 <br /> <br />City Clerk Bender stated that the City received a request to utilize the Laurie LaMotte Memorial <br />hockey rink and warming house on January 13, 2024 from 9-11:30 a.m. City Clerk Bender stated <br />that the Scouts had withdrew their application due to weather conditions. <br /> <br />3. Name a Snowplow Contest <br /> <br />Flyers were made and delivered to local businesses by Chair Errickson-Grahek, but due to an <br />expiration date of the QR Code, only five submissions were received by the deadline.
