CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />March 27, 2024 <br />Engineering <br />IX.2 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Cost Share Agreement - Rice Creek Watershed District - Centerville Lake Alum Treatment <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />At a previous Council meeting, Rice Creek Watershed District staff reported on a grant received to offset the <br />majority of a roughly $1 Million Alum Treatment of Centerville Lake. They are seeking a small percentage of <br />the needed funds from stakeholders, including the city's of Lino Lakes, Centerville and the Anoka County Parks <br />Department, all of whom have territory on the lake and who's constituents enjoy all that the lake has to offer. <br />This treatment will drastically improve the water quality in the lake and should last around 20 years. Staff is <br />recommending that funding for this project be allocated from the Storm Water fund. The purpose of the storm <br />water fund is to maintain the city's storm sewer system, including water quality infrastructure.
