<br />City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation WS & Meeting Minutes <br />March 6, 2024 <br /> <br />Midwest Multi Races has submitted a Special Event Application for use of the trails throughout <br />the city for their annual Shake Your Shamrock runs. This event is sponsored by Kelly’s Korner. <br />Staff stated that this has been an annual event for numerous years with Midwest Multi Races being <br />respectful of the trails and cleanup associated with the event. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Chair Errickson-Grahek to <br />recommend to the City Council the approval of the Special Event Permit Application of <br />Midwest Multisport Races for the usage of the City’s sidewalks/trails on March 16, 2024 <br />from 11-12 p.m. for the Shake your Shamrock Run, subject to no spray painting on the trails. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. Centennial Lakes Little League Request for Use of LaMotte Fields <br /> <br />A letter was received from Mr. Patrick Mahr, President of the Centennial Lakes Little League, <br />requesting the use of the fields and facilities at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park for the spring and <br />summer (April 1-September 20, 2024). He also stated they are planning their annual park clean- <br />up for Monday, April 22, 2024, with a back-up/rain date of Tuesday, April 23, 2024. An invitation <br />was extended to the mayor, members of the committee and City Council to meet their volunteers <br />to assist. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Chair Errickson-Grahek to <br />recommend to the City Council Approval of the Request from the Centennial Lakes Little <br />League subject to providing their game schedule and no usage during the Fete des Lacs <br />events. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Music in the Park <br /> <br />Committee Member Peterson stated that he has two bands that are fully committed and three <br />additional bands that he is working with for scheduling. He stated that he is attempting to schedule <br />several new bands for 2024 (i.e., Low Down Dirty Fools and B Plus Brass Band). <br /> <br />VII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />1 February 7, 2023 Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Committee Member Peterson requested that “going” be added between “was” and “being” in the <br />first sentence in VIII. Updates/Announcements, Item #2. <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley requested that “were donated to the Food Shelf” be added to the third <br />sentence of the same paragraph. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Akpan to <br />approve the Work Session and Meeting Minutes with the stated modifications.
