<br />City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation WS & Meeting Minutes <br />March 6, 2024 <br /> <br /> <br />1. Staff Updates – Ms. Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br /> <br />Reviewed the submitted Request for Action regarding updates with the Committee. <br /> <br />2. Committee Member Updates <br /> <br />Chair Errickson-Grahek reported that Ms. Nissa Larson has completed the registration for the 5/8K <br />registrations for Fete des Lacs and reported that with the Lions taking over the responsibilities for <br />most events associated with the festival, and Ms. Lonni Olson’s schedule not allowing for the logo <br />contest responsibilities, a committee member could champion the logo contest if the committee <br />desired to continue it, with the Lions agreeing to utilize the logo for their marketing and race shirts <br />provided by the committee associated with the runs. Committee Member Akpan stated that he <br />would champion the logo contest and working with the school’s art teachers. <br /> <br />Committee Member Peterson reported that the youth Scout leaders met and have agreed to <br />participate in the Hidden Spring Park planting. He asked that Ms. Bender keep him in the loop <br />and provide him with the contact from Prairie Restoration. Committee Member Fuchs also would <br />like to be included in the emails. It was stated that additional volunteers would be needed, and <br />Ms. Bender stated that when a date is chosen social media/marketing will commence. <br /> <br />3. Council Liaison Update <br /> <br />Council Member Sweeney stated that the contract with Prairie Restoration included maintenance <br />of several years. He stated that Council had scheduled a Town Hall-Open House for March 25, <br />2024, from 5-8 p.m. at City Hall and that all were welcome. He stated that several stations would <br />be available to the public to obtain information (i.e. LaLonde Project/TIF, Finance/Budget, <br />Community Priorities and Pelco). He also reported that there would be a CSAH54 Corridor Study <br />Open House taking place on March 26, 2024, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at City Hall and that was also <br />open to the public. <br /> <br />IX. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to adjourn <br />the March 6, 2024 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting at 7:57 p.m. All in favor.
