City of Centerville <br />City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br />April 24, 2024 <br />Motion by Council Meve the Consent <br />Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br />1. Public Works Technician Hire <br />Administrator Statz reviewed the Request for Council Action contained in the Council's packet. He <br />stated that this position funding was included in the 2024 Budget. He reported that the City is structured <br />with the City Administrator form rather than a City Manager form where Council hires staff versus the <br />City Manager. Administrator Statz stated that informal offer for hire was made at a Grade 6, Step 4 <br />level due to his extensive experience. He also stated that Mr. Barmettler was also offered 2 years credit <br />towards the PTO accrual schedule pending Council consideration. <br />Additional discussion ensued regarding water/sewer certifications with a certification timeframe of one <br />year, on call requirements being the Public Works Director's judgement, a radius of response time being <br />met, class A licensing, etc., <br />Motion by Council Member Tailor, seconded bw Council Member Mosher to Approve the Hirin�� <br />of Mr. Alex Barmettler at the Above stated PaN' and Additional Vacation Allotment U )on <br />Satisfactor Background and Health Screenin1. All in favor. Motion carried.. <br />2. Proposed Ord. #136, Second Series — Amending Table 156-A.1 (211 Reading) <br />Administrator Statz stated that this was a minor correction and the second reading. <br />Motion b3, Council Member TaNjor, seconded b Council Member Mosher to Pro ;)osed Ord. #136 <br />'Second Series — Amending Table 156-A.1 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Res. #24-OXX — Calling for a Public Hearing on the Establishment of a Redevelopment Tax <br />Increment Financing District in the Downtown Area <br />Administrator Statz reviewed the Request for Council Action contained in the Council's packet. He <br />briefly stated that requirements allowed by law and the timing of the moving parts needed to <br />appropriately establish the district. <br />Motion b%, Council Member Tay°lorw seconded b " Council Member Mosher to Amend the <br />Language Contained in Res. #24-008 — Cfor a Public Hearing on the Establishment of a <br />Redevelopment Tax Increment Financin District in the Downtown Area with the Location Bein <br />Amended to TBD Rather than being Held at Ci ,-. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />Motion b�, Council Member Tavlor„ seconded b,v Council Member Mosher to Adout the Presented <br />Res. #24-OXX Calling for a Public Hearing on the Establishment of a Redevelopment Tax <br />Increment Financing District in the Downtown Area With the Amended Lan quage of the Previous <br />--.. <br />Motion.
