CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />July 24, 2024 <br />Planning and Zoning <br />IX.5 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Resolution 24-0XX Authorizing Purchase of & Additional Contribution to Capital Equipment for Centennial FD <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The Centennial Fire District is replacing one of its aging engines. The Joint Powers Agreement governing the <br />CFD requires that major capital purchase by the department be authorized by each member city. Additionally, <br />in this case, the district does not have adequate reserves to fully fund the proposed truck and, therefore needs a <br />contribution to its capital fund, from each of the two member cities. Centerville's proposed share of those <br />additional funds is $47,000. Circle Pines will be contributing $53,000.
