City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 10, 2024 <br />property owner desiring to split the property into 3-5 lots and a review of the Downtown <br />guiding documents associated with the inconsistencies (Downtown Master Plan, <br />Comprehensive Plan and City Code) and how to rectify the issue. He reported that there <br />was lengthy discussion regarding a possible moratorium for development in the downtown <br />area. Administrator Statz stated that the Commission motion to recommend to Council to <br />explore a moratorium on Planned Unit Developments (PUDs) in the M-1 and M-2 zoning <br />Districts. He stated that the issue would be on the Council’s next agenda for consideration. <br />(ii) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that the next meeting would be <br />July 18, 2024. <br /> <br />c. Sweeney – Council Member Sweeney also gave a brief update on events that would be taking <br />place during Fete des Lacs. <br />(i) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br />(ii) Parks & Recreation Committee – Council Member Sweeney stated that their July <br />meeting was cancelled. <br />(iii) Fire Protection Council – Council Member Sweeney gave no report. <br /> <br />d. Mosher – Council Member Mosher briefly gave an overview of Fete des Lacs events taking place <br />in the upcoming week. He stated that the Jake Nelson Band, containing Jake Nelson who was <br />from White Bear Lake and very good, would be playing. <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love stated that he met with Senator Gustafson and discussed several topics (e.g. <br />development in the city, small city funding, elections, public safety and how the city spent the <br />public safety money from the legislature, solar and incentivizing the Junior Council Member <br />program throughout the State. He reported that he, Council Member Taylor and Assistant City <br />Administrator Lewis attended the League of MN Cities Conference recently. He reported that it <br />was very good, and that he had many opportunities to meet with other cities. He also stated that <br />he participated in electing the new board. He reported that Assistant City Administrator Lewis <br />will be the Vice Chair of the League of MN Cities Improving Service Delivery Committee. He <br />reported that Fete des Lacs City Celebration would be the upcoming. <br /> <br /> The mayor read a prepared statement in reference to recent development proposals, public input <br />and community vision. <br /> <br />(i) North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love gave no report. <br />(ii) Police Governing Board – Mayor Love gave no report. <br />(iii) Other Mayoral Reports – Mayor Love gave no report. <br /> <br />XI.
