City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br />August 21, 2024 <br />applicant would not have to wait for the County to go through their 2-step approval process, which <br />can take about a month. <br />Discussion ensued about the grant guidelines and the Board decided to amend the language for <br />allowing multiple applications. The Board agreed that an applicant can apply for a grant in the <br />amount of up to $10,000 within three years, along with an option to submit another application for <br />a maximum of $5,000. The purpose it to allow eligible applicants to receive an award of up to <br />$15,000 within the six-year period – the applicant would then be ineligible to receive funding again <br />through this program. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued about reimbursement of grant dollars for signs. The guidelines say that for <br />signage, 50% of the cost toward the sign will be paid on day one and the other 50% will be paid <br />after one year, on day 366 if the business is still operational. Conversation about six months versus <br />a year ensued. The Board decided to keep the language as it currently is. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Mosherseconded by Commissioner Swenson to approve revisions, <br />as noted above, to the Revolving Loan and Grant Application All in favor. Motion carried. <br />2. Holiday Lights <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet, reviewing both quotes. <br />Discussion also ensued about hiring a professional to decorate the tree and handling installation of <br />lights on the building internally. Discussion ensued about doing something in lieu of the planters <br />in the winter months and picking up the service again in May of 2025. Staff will bring back some <br />quotes for lights for the building, as well as ideas for decorations during the winter months. <br />3. September EDA Meeting <br />Executive Director Lewis introduced this item as presented in the packet. Discussion ensued about <br />a new meeting date and the Board agreed to move their September EDA meeting to Monday, <br />th <br />September 16at 5:30p.m. <br />Motion byPresident Remillard, seconded by Commissioner Swensonto move the September <br />th <br />EDA meeting to September 16 at 5:30p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />X.ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson, seconded byCommissioner Taylor to adjourn the <br />August 21, 2024, Economic Development Authority meeting at 6:43 p.m. All in favor.
