Architecture <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Incorporate a list and pictures of architectural features that can be utilized on buildings <br />to comply with the DMP. <br />City-Code <br />§ 156.051 MIXED USE DISTRICT (M-1). <br />(C) Special Requirements. The following special requirements are intended to <br />implement the Redevelopment plan, which is incorporated herein by reference. <br />(4) The architectural design and exterior building materials used in connection with any <br />new or expanded use or structure shall be consistent with any architectural design or <br />aesthetic control requirements established by the Redevelopment Plan. The city will <br />may engage the services of a consultant architect to assist with the review. Architectural Guidelines: Downtown Neighborhood <br />French Canadian architecture has features such as the following: <br /> Mansard Roofs Î characterized by the two slopes on each side of different <br />angles with the more prominent lower slope often including dormer windows. <br /> Natural Stone Facades Î characterized by a unique roof and tower feature <br /> A Tall Hipped Roof Î characterized by a tall hipped roof <br /> Tall Windows & Curved Arches Î characterized by tall sash windows and <br />eyebrow windows as well as arched doors. <br /> Exposed Architectural Features - characterized by a balance of luxury with more <br />informal, rustic feel with exposed architectural features. Features include <br />exposed wooden beams, stones, and bricks. The wooden beams are typically <br />unfinished and have more of a distressed look. <br /> <br />
