City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br />October 16, 2024 <br />Motion by Commissioner Taylor, seconded by Commissioner Swenson to approve the <br />revised agenda. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes were approved as presented. <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson and seconded by Commissioner Mosher to approve the <br />September 16, 2024, meeting minutes. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />V. BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />1. Bills <br />a. Check List <br />Executive Director Lewis reviewed the bills as revised. <br />Motion by Commissioner Swenson and seconded by Commissioner Taylor to approve the <br />bills as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />2. Communications <br />a. None <br />VI. PRESENTATION <br />a. Maria Lourey-Bowen, Anoka County Job Training Center <br />Maria presented an overview of programs and services that are offered through the Job Training <br />Center. There are numerous training opportunities, such as: On-the Job Training, Incumbent <br />Worker Training, Work Experience program, and Internships. There are also several hiring events, <br />as well as a career lab with staff dedicated to assisting those seeking employment Î services include <br />help with resumes, mock interviews, career exploration, help with job searches, etc. Additional <br />information can be found at: www.careerforce.com and www.anokacountymn.gov/jtc. Maria <br />answered questions from the EDA. <br />b. Michelle Koch, Centennial Area Chamber <br />Michelle spoke briefly about chamber involvement pertaining to Small Business Saturday; she has <br />prepared a Google Doc to collect information from participants about their offerings during this <br />week-long event. Michelle has also prepared marketing flyers for use by the Chamber and City. <br />Discussion ensued about a door prize and the EDAÓs contribution to one, and the conversation will <br />continue at a future meeting. <br /> <br />VII. REPORTS <br /> <br />1. Partner Agency Reports <br />a. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />Executive Director Lewis reviewed the report as presented in the packet. <br /> <br />2. Year to Date Financials <br />Ћ <br /> <br />
