COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />Resolution # 25- <br />A RESOLUTION TO NOT WAIVE <br />LIABILITY LIMITS FOR LMCIT INSURANCE COVERAGE <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, The City of Centerville contracts with the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT) <br />for property, casualty, and liability insurance coverage; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes set the standard liability limits at $500,000 per claimant and $1,500,000 per <br />incident; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes allow cities to waive the liability limits to a maximum of $2,000,000 per <br />claimant and $2,000,000 per incident with a higher premium from the LMCIT; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to minimize its exposure to loss and cost; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Centerville that: <br />1. The City Council elects to not waive liability limits for the 2025 insurance renewal. <br />2. The Finance Director is authorized and directed to sign and return the waiver form indicating <br />this election along with the renewal information provided to the LMCIT underwriters. <br />Passed and Adopted by the City of Centerville this 8th day of January, 2025. <br />Nancy Golden, Mayor <br />Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br />
