Receive complaints and inquiries from residents in person and over the telephone, <br />responding courteously and ensuring prompt, appropriate action is taken. <br /> Assist in preparation of Business Continuity Plans and/or Succession Planning. <br /> Administer Administrative Intern Program. <br /> Other duties as assigned. <br /> In the absence of the City Administrator, assume day to day duties of the City <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />External Relationships with the Public <br /> Establishes an effective working relationship with clear respectful communications with <br />citizens, businesses, commissions, consultants and representatives from other political <br />subdivisions. <br /> Represents the City to external groups in ways which enhance the image of Centerville and <br />serve the best interest of the City. <br /> Assures open communication, encouraging residents and businesses to be heard by the <br />Council. <br /> Prepares the release of information for the public as directed by the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Relationship with Council and Committees <br /> Will be required to attend after-hour meetings of City Council, Committees, etc., as <br />assigned or needed. <br /> Coordinate City Council meeting activities under the direction of the City Administrator by <br />preparing meeting agendas, compiling and delivering meeting packets and providing a <br />written record of meeting minutes. <br /> Develop relationship with Committee Chairs in an effort to be a primary point of contact <br />for their respective committees. <br /> <br />Organizational Responsibility <br /> This position is expected to treat co-workers, residents, City officials, business owners and <br />the general public in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. <br /> <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES: <br /> Attends professional development workshops and conferences to keep current of updated <br />information on trends, technology, legislation and other developments associated with City <br />Administration. <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and Experience <br /> BachelorÓs Degree in Public Administration or complimentary/related field; alternatively, <br />10+ years of experience in local government. <br /> <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and Experience <br /> Work or internship experience in city government or related field <br /> Work as a consultant, serving city government <br />160 <br /> <br />
