Dear Megan: We appreciate the quick review and response associated with our Community Partner Award application. I would like for you to consider that the term “games” may not be fitting to our course as it is not similar in the fact that the course is not mobile. (e.g. bocce ball, cornhole, ladder ball, gaga pit). I would also not consider this “outdoor fitness equipment”. So, as you continue down the listing of items that are conditional, would sporting equipment that supports equitable every day physical activity in the community setting and signage fit? Hi Teresa, The SHIP team has received and reviewed your Community Partner Award application for disc golf course materials. Unfortunately, the Minnesota Department of Health considers “outdoor fitness equipment” and “games” unallowable SHIP expenses, so we will not be able to move forward with funding this project. I am open to hearing about what other needs the City has and explore ways SHIP or our Public Health Dept can support.
