CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />April 9, 2025 <br />Administration/Engineering <br />IX.6 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Cleaning and televising sanitary sewer mains <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The City owns approximately 20 miles of sewer main. Standard maintenance for sewer main includes regular <br />cleaning and inspection of the sewer pipe. Cleaning involves the use of high pressure water jetters to clear <br />obstructions and remove grease and other buildup from the pipe walls. Inspection is done by running a small, <br />motorized camera down the pipes. The pipe condition as well as the locations of any defects and sewer services <br />is noted in the video and accompanying report for each pipe segment. The City can then note any areas of <br />concern and schedule repairs as needed. The City last cleaned and televised the sewer mains in 2013.
