City of Centerville <br />City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br />February 26, 2025 <br />5.City Engineering Services Î Council Meeting Attendance <br /> <br />Mayor Golden provided an opportunity for members to pull items for additional discussion. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Rios, to Approve Consent Agenda <br />as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Golden stated that they would be renumbering the items as follows as Ms. Kellie Schlegel, Stantec <br />is here this evening to discuss IX. New Business, Item #3: Item #3 moved to Item #1, as Ms. Kellie <br />Schlegel, Stantec, is available this evening to discuss the item with Council so Item #4 moved to Item #2, <br />Item #1 moved to Item #3, and Item #2 moved to #4. (See below) <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Res. #25 Î 0XX Î Ordering Improvements & Authorizing the Preparation of Plans and <br />Specifications for the 2025 Thin Mill & Overlay Street Improvement Project <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Lewis stated that typically this resolution would have been before Council at <br />the last meeting, and it was an oversight that it was missed. <br /> <br />Ms. Kellie Schlegel, Stantec, reviewed the information contained in the packet. She stated that it was an <br />oversight on her part and that it did not change the scope of the project, engineering fees, etc. associated <br />with the project. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Rios to Adopt Res. #25-012 Î <br />Ordering Improvements & Authorizing the Preparation of Plans and Specifications for the 2025 <br />Thin Mill & Overlay Street Improvement Project as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2.Public Works Technician Hiring <br /> <br />Mayor Golden stated that this item was moved to provide Finance Director DeJong an opportunity to <br />provide input as he was present. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Lewis stated that the position was in the 2025 Budget, the city received 11 <br />applications and interviews were conducted. She stated that a particular candidate stood out, Caleb <br />Molitor. She also stated that a conditional offer has been forwarded to him and the city is awaiting his <br />response. She reported that the offer was conditional subject to completion of a successful drug screening <br />and background check. Interim City Administrator Lewis stated that the position pay grade was 6 with a <br />hiring range between steps 1-5. Staff felt that the candidate and his background justified step 4 <br />($30.40/hr.) with two years of credit for PTO accrual with a tentative start date of March 24, 2025. The <br />funding for the position is funded through several funds (Sewer, Water, Stormwater, and General Fund). <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
