City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 14, 2025 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Kubat, seconded by Council Member Rios, to Approve the Consent <br />Agenda Items 1 through 5 and Items 7 through 9a, as presented. Roll Call: Mayor Golden, Council <br />Member Koski, Council Member Kubat, Council Member Mosher and Council Member Rios. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Item 6. Council Member Kubat questioned if the cost of paper was included in the contract and the answer <br />was no. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski asked if the city has looked into the cost of owning verses leasing the copiers. <br />Finance Director DeJong stated the actual cost would go down by leasing versus owning. <br /> <br />A discussion ensued regarding the maintenance and repairs that are covered in this agreement. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Kubat, seconded by Council Member Rios, to Approve the Consent <br />Agenda Item #6, as presented. Roll Call: Mayor Golden, Council Member Koski, Council Member <br />Kubat, Council Member Mosher and Council Member Rios. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS. <br /> <br />1. Irrigation at LaMotte Park <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator stated that at the last council meeting, the Council reviewed a quote for repairs <br />to the stormwater irrigation system at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. She stated that contained in <br />council’s packet were three quotes (Renner & Sons, not to exceed $23,699 - included costs for the <br />replacement of the motor as well as pump replacement with a three year warrantee on the motor and six <br />month warrantee on labor); (Keys Well Drilling Company, $21,125 – 12-month warranty on all parts, no <br />warranty on labor, but all replacement parts would be covered for one year); and (Berguson-Caswell, Inc., <br />who submitted two quotes, one for the motor and one for the pump, with a one year warranty and parts <br />being replaced with “like for like” without a guarantee that the parts would be new). <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Rios, seconded by Council Member Kubat, to accept the quote from <br />Renner & Sons and enter into a contract for the services in an amount not to exceed $23,699. Roll <br />Call: Mayor Golden, Council Member Koski, Council Member Kubat, Council Member Mosher <br />and Council Member Rios. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Approval of the Mill and Overlay Project <br />Interim City Administrator Lewis stated that City Engineer, Kellie Schlegel reviewed the Mill & Overlay <br />Project. She stated that the motion would be to adopt the resolution and to award the contract for the Mill <br />and Overlay project as presented. <br /> <br />Engineer Schlegel stated that the city received five bids and reviewed the project that consists of a base <br />bid and 2 alternates, which were in your council packet.
