City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 14, 2025 <br />(iii) Anoka County Fire Protection Council – Council Member Koski stated that at Anoka <br />County Fire Protection meeting, there was a lot to discuss but mostly on the budget. He <br />stated that he does not know what it is going to cost the City of Centerville. They are still <br />working on creating a training center for all the fire services in Anoka County. They are <br />also working on a program with a city in Mexico and having a sister city relationship with <br />the fire department in Mexico. <br /> <br />c. Rios - <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Rios stated that the EDA meeting <br />has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for June. <br /> <br />d. Mosher – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br />(ii) Centennial Lakes Police Department Governing Board – Council Member Mosher <br />gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Golden – <br />(i) Centennial Lakes Police Department Governing Board – Mayor Golden stated that <br />Council Member Kubat and Interim City Administrator Lewis attended the Centennial <br />Lakes Police Department Governing Board. She stated that they had just finished their <br />audit, and they have purchased 2 electric bikes. They also have a tentative offer for a police <br />officer pending background check. <br /> <br />(iii) North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Golden stated that North Metro <br />Executive Board met last week, and they elected to continue with the co-chairs. Eric <br />Houston and Danika Peterson are the co-chairs. <br /> <br />(iv) Other Mayoral Reports – Mayor Golden stated that she spoke with the audit committee <br />last week and she said that she is very pleased with our financial state. Mayor Golden <br />stated that someone reported to her about flower robberies at St. Genevieve Cemetery. She <br />stated that she attended a presentation at St. Genevieve’s Church and that a family that <br />donated a statute of Our Lake of Kabeho to the church. In the presentation, they gave the <br />history of the statue. She stated for those that do not know who Our Lady of Kabeho, she <br />has appeared in Rwanda in the 1980’s. There was a family who was from Rwanda and <br />Nuns from Kenay that attended. The statue was gifted the Nuns the statue to take home to <br />Kenya to display in their church. <br /> <br />On Friday, the Parks & Recreation Committee Chair Errickson-Grahek, the P & R Chair, <br />and she visited the Centerville Elementary School and the Middle School to give the <br />contest winners their certificates. <br /> <br />f. Jr. Council Member Wynn – She reported that prom was 2 weeks ago, and it was very fun and <br />everyone enjoyed it. She stated that the culture fair was on Saturday, and it was successful. <br /> <br />g. Attorney Glaser – Attorney Glaser stated that Law Day was a big success, so much so, that they <br />are going to have another Law Day. He stated that he had a half shift there and saw about 40 <br />people. He reported that the search for a new City Administrator is going well and they are meeting <br />this Saturday. <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
