CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission was held in Council Chambers on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />MEETING Î 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30p.m. <br /> <br />1. Roll Call <br /> <br />Present: <br />Commissioner Olson Not Approved <br />Commissioner Richard Nelson <br />Chair Dawn Kalina <br />Commissioner Jim Carciofini <br />Jon Krueger <br />Commissioner Bruce Thompson <br />Absent: Commissioner Jeanie Seppala <br />Staff: Interim City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br /> Consulting City Planner, Phil Carlson <br />Council Council Member Russ Koski <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as presented, with mention of a revised certificate of survey (handout) <br />for the variance request for 7239 Main Street. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Krueger, seconded by Commissioner Olson to Approve the Agenda. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IV. PUBLIC HEARING (6:30 PM or shortly thereafter) <br />1. Chapter 156 Zoning Ordinance & Table of Allowed Uses (Tabled at last <br />meeting <br />City Planner Phil Carlson introduced this item in the packet as presented, reviewing his memo, <br />which outlines proposed changes to definitions related to yard, required yard, setbacks, etc., as <br />well as placement of accessory structures and inclusion of provisions for lakeshore lots. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued about placement of accessory structures, i.e. in front of or behind the house. <br />Phil asked the Commission where they would like to see detached accessory structures (garage). <br />Discussion also ensued about corner lots having two front yards and no rear yard. Phil noted that <br />most homes in the city have interior lots. Phil also noted that placement of swimming pools be <br />clarified in the code. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />92 <br /> <br />
