Eagle Scout Project – Mr. Luke Peterson <br /> <br />Mr. Luke Peterson explained the Eagle Scout Project. He stated they had groups of two individuals <br />in the parks counting how many people attended each park. He stated that each group would be <br />in the park for two hours and then surveyed every half hour as to how many people were in the <br />park. He stated that they also monitored the temperature and weather conditions during the same <br />time. Committee Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that she looked forward to seeing his final <br />report and thanked him. <br /> <br />3. Disc Golf – Mr. Devin Grahek <br /> <br />Chair Errickson-Grahek introduced Mr. Devin Grahek. Mr. Grahek reviewed a presentation for a <br />proposed Disc Golf course at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. He explained that Disc Golf was <br />very similar to regular golf with courses ranging from 9 to 18 holes. He stated that the average <br />course length varied depending on course size. He stated that some courses have a practice area <br />with a stand-alone basket. He stated that the players would bring their own discs. He stated that <br />he was proposing a beginner’s course, 9-hole with a practice basket for10 baskets total. He <br />reviewed the course layout, cost and signage. <br /> <br />A lengthy discussion ensued as to the layout, the cost, signage, time frame for installation and <br />possible grant funds. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Freiermuth that <br />the committee is interested in the project and would like him to continue with a proposal. <br />Committee Member Port thanked Mr. Grahek for the presentation, she stated that she hadconcern <br />for abutting property owners and their thoughts regarding the course. Mr. Grahek explained that <br />there was ample distance between the abutting properties and the course. He explained that <br />signage would be posted near the two properties stating “Private Property” so that players would <br />understand the parks boundaries. Chair Errickson-Grahek stated that there was ample room <br />between the private properties and walking paths. <br /> <br />All in favor. Committee Member Port Nay. Motion carried 6 to 1. <br />IV.
