City of Centerville <br />Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />April 2, 2025 <br />City Clerk Bender stated that 10 vendors were currently registered. <br />b.Fiore Tree <br />City Clerk Bender stated that the Public Works Department was seeking bids for installation of <br />electricity to the site, and the Centerville Lions have offered to donate $1,000 to the project. <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek noted that the project was extremely expensive with bids for <br />electricity, irrigation, basket brackets, etc. She stated that the vendor has offered a discount of <br />$2,000 in exchange for a small sign to be placed near the tree. Discussion ensued regarding the <br />initial motion by City Council was for $25,000 and with all enhancements, (e.g. irrigation and <br />electricity) the cost would be $41,475 excluding future maintenance and utilities. <br />c.Shakeyour Shamrock <br />City Clerk Bender stated that due to the timing of the application and cancellation of the March <br />meeting, staff approved the use of the trialsfor this event. City Clerk Bender stated that there were <br />no issues with the event like year’s past. <br />d.P & R Meeting Minutes <br />City Clerk Bender reported difficulty reachingthe individual who prepares the committee’s <br />meeting minutes and stated that options have been discussed for going forward. There was concern <br />regarding legalities and City Clerk Bender stated that all meetings are recorded and are the formal <br />record until minutes are completed and approved. Council Liaison Kubat suggested utilizing <br />Copilot or something similar. Chairperson Errickson-Grahek requested that staff gather additional <br />information from additional providers along with Copilot. <br />2.Committee Member Update <br />a.Committee Member Update <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that Clean-up Day would take place on April 19, 2025,at <br />9:00 a.m. Chairperson Errickson-Grahek stated that interested individuals should meetat City <br />Hall and disburse from there. <br />b.Comprehensive Tree Plan <br />Committee Member Fuchs stated that she had been researching tree selection and placement for <br />the new trees. She stated that items of consideration are shade, landscaping, suitable varieties per <br />soil conditions, etc. She stated that her and Chairperson Errickson-Grahek will be meeting with <br />the Public Works Department to discuss locations/interference of proposed plantings. <br />c.Music in the Park <br />Committee Member Peterson stated that he has booked two bands, seeking additional bands and <br />aiming to finalize bookings by the next meeting.
