<br />AdministratorÓs Report <br /> <br />January 8, 2026 <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The city is collaborating with the U of MN's Resilient Communities Project and Minnesota Design Center <br />through the Empowering Small Minnesota Communities (ESMC) program activities will resume after the <br />holiday. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Junior Council Member Sophie Wynnn Recognition <br />In December, Junior Council Member Sophie Wynn was presented <br />with a proclamation for her dedicated year of service to the city. <br />Acting Mayor Russ Koski and Junior Council Member Sophie <br />Wynn are shown in the image to the right. Sophie served as our high <br />school representative on the city council for the 2025 calendar year. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT <br />Beginning on January 1, 2026, Centerville with be contracting with <br />Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View (SBM) Fire Department for <br />fire services. For more than three years, SBM has managed the <br />Centennial Fire District. We thank the Centennial Fire District <br />members for many years of outstanding service. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT <br />Santa Parade <br />The Santa Parade in Centerville raised $487 and <br />1,983 pounds of food for the local food shelf. <br />Centennial Fire District would like to thank the generosity of the residents of Centerville. <br /> <br />SBM (Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View) Fire <br />Beginning on January 1, 2026, Centerville with be contracting with Spring Lake Park-Blaine- <br />Mounds View (SBM) Fire Department for fire services. For more than three years, SBM has <br />managed the Centennial Fire District. Special thanks to the Centennial Fire District members for <br />many years of outstanding service. <br /> <br />Centerville Lions Christmas in the Park <br />The Centerville Lions apologize for the need to cancel their annual Christmas in the Park due to inclement <br />weather. They are eagerly planning next yearÓs event along with their Annual Fishing Contest. <br /> <br />FINANCE <br />The Finance Department has met with auditors from Abdo and completed preliminary fieldwork for the <br />Annual Financial Audit, which will be completed in 2026. Fieldwork is scheduled for May 4-6, 2026, with <br />the report to be completed and presented to City Council in June. <br /> <br />The Finance Department completed year-end check runs for the City and EDA in accordance with the adopted <br />policy which allows staff to issue checks if there is a gap of more than three weeks between scheduled City <br />Council meetings. <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />
