All budget and tax levy reporting to Anoka County and the State of Minnesota have been completed this <br />week. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br />Holiday Garbage/Recycling Collection & Christmas Tree Recycling <br /> Republic Services employees will be observing the New Years <br />Holiday, and your garbage/recycling will be delayed by one day. <br />Pickup will be on January 3, 2026. <br /> Republic Services will accept all undecorated holiday trees <br />curbside January 9 and January 16, 2026. Please ensure that they <br />are curbside by 7 a.m. <br /> Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Compost site, located at: 7701 Main <br />Street, Lino Lakes will also take undecorated holiday trees, <br />wreaths and boughs. For more information: 763-324-3400. <br /> <br />Interim Public Works Director to Retire this Month <br />City Council honored outgoing Interim Public Works Director Tedd <br />Peterson at their December 11, 2025, council meeting. Acting Mayor <br />Russ Koski read a proclamation recognizing Tedd for his years (26) of <br />dedicated service to the city. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The Department would like to introduce Jess Thurstin as its new Office <br />Supervisor. She has taken the place of retired Office Supervisor, Kathy <br />Honkomp. The Department will miss Kathy and we wish her all the best <br />for the future. <br /> <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />The Committee is preparing for their first Skate/Sled night of the new year. <br />It is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, 2026. The event will take place <br />at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park and include the use of kick sleds and <br />snowshoes provided by Wargo Nature Center. Several Committee <br />Members will be on-site to provide the public with free hot cocoa, popcorn, music, and a bonfire.
