Public Drainage Basics <br />¤ Originally designed for Agricultural <br />Drainage, to allow the land to be used for <br />Haying and Pasture, not intended to <br />convert a wetland into dry upland. <br />¤Most drainage systems in the district now <br />serve as regional stormwater conveyance <br />systems (stormwater outlets). Carrying <br />peak flow beyond the original design, <br />leading to more rapid degradation. <br /> <br />
