City of Centerville <br />City Work Session & Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 27, 2025 <br />Mayor Golden called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Golden asked for a moment of silence for those that were affected by the shootings at Annunciation <br />Catholic School in South Minneapolis. <br />1. Roll Call <br />Not Approved <br />PRESENT: Mayor Nancy Golden <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Anita Rios <br />Council Member David Kubat <br />Junior Council Member Sophie Wynn (Non-Voting) <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF: City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br /> City Attorney, Kurt Glaser <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Mayor Golden provided an opportunity for staff and council to add or delete items. <br />Motion by Mayor Golden, seconded by Council Member Rios, to Approve the Agenda as presented. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IV. APPOINTMENTS & PRESENTATIONS <br />1.Mr. Nick Tomczik, District Administrator - Rice Creek Watershed District, introduced himself <br />and provided a presentation which included updates on Clearwater Creek Stabilization Project and <br />the Alum Treatment Project on Centerville Lake. Mr. Tomczik stated that the District wanted to <br />provide the Council with their history, their responsibilities and addressed questions that they had. <br />He also stated that several additional staff members were present: Mr. Matt Kocian, Lake & <br />Stream Manager; Tom Schmidt, Drainage & Facilities Manager; and David Petry, Project <br />Manager. <br />2.Mr. Derrick Williams, Ramsey, introduced himself and provided a presentation from the Anoka <br />County Election Integrity Team. Mr. Williams stated that the group feels that the County has taken <br />powers away from cities associated with the elections and the use of electronic poll pads. <br />V.PUBLIC HEARING <br />1.
