City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />February 5, 2025 <br />Chairperson Errickson-Grahek adjourned the meeting at 6:18 p.m. <br />REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING <br />I.CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Heidi Erickson-Grahekcalled the Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Committee to order on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 6:32p.m. <br />2.ROLL CALL <br />Present: Chairperson Heidi Erickson-Grahek <br />Committee Member Emem Akpan Committee Member Emem Akpan <br /> Committee Member Kathy Freiermuth Committee Member Kathy Freiermuth <br />Not Approved <br />Committee Member Deanna LoomisCommittee Member Deanna Loomis <br />Committee Member Brian Peterson Committee Member Brian Peterson <br /> Committee Member Katya Port <br />Absent:Committee Member Ashley Fuchs <br /> <br />Also Present:City Clerk, Ms. Teresa Bender <br />City Council Liaison, David Kubat <br /> <br />II.APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />1.Call for Changes to the Agenda <br />Mr. Luke Peterson was unableto attend the meeting this evening; thus Item III.1 will be deleted. <br />Mr. Kyle Phernetton, 1740 Main Street,is present and would like to address the Committee. Music <br />in the Park will be discussed under New Committee Business as #6. <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Akpan to <br />approve the amended agenda as discussed.All in favor. Motion carried. <br />III.AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES. <br />Mr. Kyle Phernetton, 1740 Main Street, Centerville, attended the Skate Party this year. The <br />sledding hill is good for little kids but not so much for older kids. He understands a disc <br />golf is being considered and suggested that a giant hill be built for sledding next to the <br />smaller hill near the skate park.It would be best in the middle of the field, keeping both <br />sledding hills together.He suggested some fundraising ideas. This will be placed on the <br />next meeting agenda (March 5, 2025), and Mr. Phernetton was invited to return.
