City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />February 5, 2025 <br />researched to see if there is additional funding for new dates. The new dates would be in <br />August 2025. <br />VII.APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1.Minutes of October2, 2024 – Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes – <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Peterson, seconded by ChairpersonErickson-Grahekto <br />approve the minutes of the Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Committeeas submitted. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII.ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br />1.Staff Updates – (Skate Night, February 15, 2025) <br />Information has been posted on social media, website, and kiosk, along with emails sent to <br />residents. Volunteers are needed. Wargo will be at the event again this year. <br />2.Committee Member Updates – Comprehensive Tree Plan, February 15, 2025, <br />Skate/Sled Night, and Fiore Tree. <br />Committee Member Fuchs will provide an update at the next meeting on the <br />Comprehensive Tree Plan. <br />The Fiore Trees are metal, and a drip irrigation system runs to the tree. The tree can be lit. <br />There has been some concern about the costexpressed at the Council.EDA has agreed to <br />collaborate in the past, and they will be contacted to see if collaboration is still available. <br />The Lions Club could also be contactedfor collaboration. <br />3.Council Liaison Update. <br />Councilmember Kubat introduced himself and his background. He looks forward to <br />working with the Parks and Recreation Committee. His goal is to be the Committee’s voice <br />on the City Council. <br />IX.ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Apkan to <br />adjourn the February 5, 2025, Parks & Recreation Committee Meetingat 8:15 p.m. All in <br />favor.
