City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />February 5, 2025 <br />b.Centennial Community Education Request for Use of LaMotte Park –July 23 – <br />August 13, 2025, from 5:00 –7:15 p.m. for Soccer. <br />c.Centennial Lakes Little League Request for Use of LaMotte Park Ballfields – <br />April 1 –September2025, Monday – Friday from 4:00 p.m. –Dark, Saturday & <br />Sunday 10:00 a.m. –2:00 p.m. (Park Cleanup April 21, 2025 – Rain Backup April <br />22, 2025).A schedule will be requested. <br />Motion made by ChairpersonErickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member <br />Peterson to recommend that the City Council approve the request from Centennial <br />Community Education. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />2.Name a Snowplow Contest <br />The 18 submissions for recommendations for the Name a Snowplow Contest were <br />provided for Committee consideration. Public Works recommendations were provided to <br />the Committee suchas Blizzard of Oz, Darth Blader, and Blizzard Wizard. The Committee <br />was requested to select one name. The Committee Members each provided their <br />suggestions. The Blizzard Wizard was suggested. <br />3.Nissa Larson Fete des Lacs Annual 5K/8K/Kids Run <br />The rules and structure of the runs are the same as last year. More volunteers are needed <br />for the event so that paid workers are not needed. Requests for volunteers will be added to <br />the City Newsletter. A discussion on the number of volunteers needed was held. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by ChairpersonErickson- <br />Grahekto recommend that the City Council approve Nissa Larson’s contract for Fete <br />des Lacs Race Coordination. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />4.Park Cleanup (April 19 or April 26, 2025) <br />Earth Day is on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The Committee is requested to schedule the <br />annual event, along with a rain date. The date of April 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., was selected, <br />with April 26, 2025,being the rain date.Volunteers will be sought through social media. <br />5.Appoint Subcommittee –Laurie LaMotte Park Equipment <br />Chairperson Erickson, Committee Member Katya Port, and Committee Member Kathy <br />Freiermuth will be on the subcommittee. <br />6.Music in the Park <br />The budget for Music in the Parkis the same as in 2024.
