AdministratorÓs Report
March 12, 2026
ADMINISTRATION
Downtown Vision Study
th
The city held an open house on February 25 at City
Hall to hear input from residents on their vision for
downtown. There were approximately seventy-five
(75)attendees, and we received a lot of input from
residents about their preferences for development in
the downtown area. The city has received over 200
responses to a visual preference survey, and the
survey will remain open for two more weeks.
Important conversations about where the core of
downtown is located and what types of development
residents would lie to see.
After the open house, the cityÓs planning firm
provided an update on the project at a joint Planning
& Zoning Commission/Council work session at city
rd
hall on March 3. A few scenarios for downtown were also discussed.
Next steps are to present policy recommendations to the council to assist with attaining a desired vision for
downtown.
If you have not already taken the survey, you can do so by accessing the QR code or the survey link
shown in the flyer above.
The next ESMC Advisory Committee
meeting will be announced soon. The U
of MN staff are studying the public realm
and are working to identify access and
circulation issues in the project area. Staff are working closely with city staff and Bolten & Menk.
PUBLIC WORKS
2026 Spring Weight Restrictions
Spring weight restrictions are now in effect. Click here for a list of roadways
with restrictions: www.centervillemn.com/document/view/1375/2026-road
restrictions.
Plowing Operations Update
Plowing season is likely not over, so please do not remove the markers that
are in place along the roadways of your yard. It might seem winter is over, but
we may have winter conditions ahead of us.
24
