AdministratorÓs Report <br />March 12, 2026 <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />Downtown Vision Study <br />th <br />The city held an open house on February 25 at City <br />Hall to hear input from residents on their vision for <br />downtown. There were approximately seventy-five <br />(75)attendees, and we received a lot of input from <br />residents about their preferences for development in <br />the downtown area. The city has received over 200 <br />responses to a visual preference survey, and the <br />survey will remain open for two more weeks. <br />Important conversations about where the core of <br />downtown is located and what types of development <br />residents would lie to see. <br />After the open house, the cityÓs planning firm <br />provided an update on the project at a joint Planning <br />& Zoning Commission/Council work session at city <br />rd <br />hall on March 3. A few scenarios for downtown were also discussed. <br />Next steps are to present policy recommendations to the council to assist with attaining a desired vision for <br />downtown. <br />If you have not already taken the survey, you can do so by accessing the QR code or the survey link <br />shown in the flyer above. <br />The next ESMC Advisory Committee <br />meeting will be announced soon. The U <br />of MN staff are studying the public realm <br />and are working to identify access and <br />circulation issues in the project area.
