CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT (CLPD) <br />Bike Safety Education <br /> <br />The police department is promoting bike safety. See the <br />Bicycle drivers should obey the same signals and signs that motorists do. <br />Bicycle drivers should always keep both hands on the handlebars, except when signaling. <br /> Bicycle drivers should sit on the seat and not on the handlebars or frame. <br /> Bicycle drivers should drive as near the right side of the street as possible in single file. <br /> Bicycle drivers, when crossing a sidewalk or entering a street, shall allow pedestrians and automobiles <br />the right of way. <br /> Bicycle drivers should not hold on to moving automobiles or trucks. <br /> Bicycle drivers should not ride on sidewalks in front of stores or office buildings and should signal <br />to pedestrians on neighborhood sidewalks when passing. <br /> Bicycle drivers should ride their bicycle at a safe speed. <br /> Bicycles should only be parked against the curb, in a rack, or against a building so that they are not <br />in the way of people walking on the sidewalk. <br /> Bicycles should have a bright light on the front, a red light or reflector on the rear, and a bell or horn. <br /> Bicycles should have good brakes so that they may be stopped fast and safely <br /> <br />To learn more about bike safety then click here: Here <br /> <br />PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br />There are a few developments on the horizon for review at P&Z <br />over the next couple of months. Meeting dates have not been <br />finalized. <br /> <br />Projects include: <br /> Woods of Old Mill Î This is the third and final phase of <br />the Old Mill Estates Development. <br /> Sutton Transportation Expansion <br /> Engineering Office at 1737 Main Street <br /> <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />Members of the cityÓs Economic Development Authority <br />visited a few businesses in town to see how things were going <br />at their places of business. The businesses that we visited are <br />doing well, and there was some interest in participating in a <br />shop local campaign.
