CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />May 14, 2026 <br />Administration/Public Works <br />VI.1 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Centerville Parade - Fete des Lacs Budget <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />An engineer approved traffic safety road closure plan is necessary for the 2026 permitting process through the <br />Anoka County Highway Department for the Fete des Lacs parade to be authorized. This plan is standardized <br />and meets the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, (MUTCD) traffic signal and safety requirements <br />necesary for a road closure by the County. The cost to have the parade's traffic barricade and sign company, <br />(Q3 Contracting), have their professionals design and sign-off for the plan is approximately $1,600. The intent <br />is that this plan will be used for the next five years, and the cost of initial design accounts for the $1,600 <br />expenditure. Staff is working with Anoka County to acquire this permit once the plan is submitted for review. <br />Fete des Lacs volunteers are requesting the City Council approve this cost be incurred by the city. The current <br />parade budget will be overbudget if the expenditure is assigned to the parade budget.
