City of Centerville <br />Work Session & City Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 14, 2026 <br />Item #9, Council Member Rios asked about the active transportation grant application for a trail project <br />that has not yet been identified. The city will apply under the bike category. The cap for each grant is <br />$200,000. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Rios, seconded by Council Member Broussard Vicker to Approve <br />Consent Agenda Items #6, #7, #9, and #12 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />ST <br />1. Res #26-0XX – Approving Conditional Use Permit – 6855 – 21 Avenue, Findings of Fact <br />& CUP. <br /> <br />City Administrator Lewis stated that a request was received from Sutton Transportation for a Conditional <br />Use Permit Amendment and Site Plan review for expansion. She stated that the report was contained in <br />council’s packet. <br /> <br />City Planner Nathan Fuerst reviewed the presentation and noted that no fencing was included in the <br />Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding ownership, name changing on the document and that the original plat was <br />names Sutton Transport. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Broussard Vickers to Adopt Res. <br />#26-006 approving the request from Sutton Transportation for a Conditional Use Permit <br />Amendment and Site Plan Review with the findings and conditions therein. All in favor. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />2. Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br /> <br />Administrator Lewis stated that the City Council reviewed a revised Capital Improvement Plan during <br />their last work session which contained 2026 infrastructure projects. Staff requests that Council provide <br />authorization to proceed with capital purchases for 2026. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding individual items, the moving of the purchase of council furniture to 2027, <br />reaching out to obtain funding from users/sponsors for replacement hockey boards, additional research <br />regarding acceptance of donations/sponsors; and Public Works Director Lehn provided information <br />regarding purchases of Public Works equipment. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Rios, seconded by Council Member Broussard Vickers to authorize <br />capital purchases for 2026 with the elimination of Council furniture. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued, Finance Director DeJong requested that as part of a purchasing policy, staff would <br />prefer not to bring items back before council if the amount is the same as contained in the CIP or less. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
