Council Member Lakso stated that she felt that the services were essential <br />to the community, but once again the request was extreme. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway agreed but said that the number of people utilizing the service <br />has increased since the City has agreed to support the Alexandra House. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra said that she thinks the services are justified for the cost. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser indicated that he works a lot with Alexandra House as part of his <br />prosecution duties and there are mandates to help victims. Attorney Glaser also stated <br />that almost all of the individuals utilizing the services of Alexandra House have not <br />needed his services because they were provided by them. Attorney Glaser felt that they <br />did a tremendous job for the cost of services. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra felt that comparative to the fees associated with Mediation Services, <br />Alexandra House is reasonable. <br /> <br />Council Member T erway suggested receiving reports on a quarterly basis and to provide <br />for a $1,000 line item in the budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra requested a report on how much mediation services are used. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso stated that she understands the formula, agrees that the services <br />are necessary, but she feels that the $924 is too high. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Terway. seconded by Mayor Caora. to allocate $924 for <br />Aleundra House in 2007 for services to Centerville residents. Ayes - 2. Navs - 1 <br />(Lakso \. Motion carried. <br /> <br />vm. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Ground Development's Request for Letter of Credit Reduction - Pheasant Marsh <br />3rd Addition and Second Half Property Taxes <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz indicated that he reviewed the requested reduction in the letter of <br />credit and it complies; however, there are requirements for a 100,10 retainage. This would <br />make the reduction to $350,000. The second request is that the City pay for oversizing <br />and Mr. Statz concurred. <br /> <br />Mr. Dale Runkle indicated that a 10% retainage is usually held at the end of the project <br />rather than during the process hut they agree if this is the way the City handles the <br />process. <br /> <br />Page 4 of? <br /> <br />1 <br />
